Drayton Valley Thunder Acquire Forward Loughlan McMullan
Drayton Valley, AB – The Drayton Valley Thunder have acquired 2007-born, left-handed forward Loughlan McMullan from the Northern Manitoba Blizzard of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) in exchange for a player development fee.
McMullan, a 6’0″ player from Brandon, MB, has a championship pedigree.  Last season with the Blizzard, he played a key role during their championship run. The Blizzard won the Turnbull Cup as MJHL champions and advanced to the Centennial Cup, Canada’s National Junior A Championship. McMullan had 6 points in 38 regular season games and added 7 points in 13 playoff games for the Blizzard. Prior to his time in the MJHL in 2023-24, McMullan was a part of the Brandon Wheat Kings U18AAA club that won the Manitoba Provincial Championship and attended the Telus Cup.
“Loughlan is a hard-working player with a winning pedigree, which we have identified as a key need in our organization,” said Thunder General Manager and Head Coach Jeff Truitt. “He’s coming off back-to-back championship seasons, and that leadership and experience will be invaluable to our team.”
