Daigle and Allen Share Shutout Versus Whitecourt

Tonight's first exhibition game against Whitecourt was a win-win game all around.  According to the tweets tonight, Thunder’s first goal of the season was scored by Austin Pickford – 14:00 of the 1st.  Jordan McConnell followed with another goal making it 2-0 for DV. At the end of the 1st, the score was still 2-0 Thunder, shots 20-8 for Thunder. Jordan Taupert knocked in two goals in the second along with Tyler Benko at 8:00 of the 2nd tallying up 5-0 on the score board. Jason Miller topped off the 2nd period at 18:30 with 6-0 for DV. At the end of the 2nd period, the score was still 6-0 Thunder, with shots 34-16 for the Thunder. No goals were scored in the third leaving a nice little 6-0 shutout that the Thunder dished out to the Wolverines with final shots 47-26 for the Thunder.
As for the win-win, the shutout shared by goal tenders Marc Olivier Daigle and Devon Allen was the first win. The second win was impressive size of the crowd that was on hand at Thunder's  first exhibition game of the season and how supportive they were for the Drayton Valley Food Bank. Way to go team for the win and way to go Drayton Valley for your support for the team and the food bank.
