Thunder Welcome Sean Brown To Coaching Staff

The Drayton Valley Thunder are thrilled to welcome a new Skills Coach to the team. Sean Brown began his professional career as an accomplished hockey player in the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) playing for three seasons with the Belleville Bulls. In 1995 he was selected in the first round of the NHL draft by the Boston Bruins going 21st overall. He played for 4 NHL teams (Boston Bruins, Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks) in a total of 436 NHL games. After his NHL career he moved on to play in Europe for 5 more seasons. Sean coached with the Edmonton Oil Kings for 2 seasons, winning the Memorial Cup Championship in 2014, and is currently the skills coach for the Okanagan Hockey Academy Edmonton. He is also the owner and founder of Breakout Hockey Inc. running hockey programs and camps out of Sherwood Park, AB.
