#13 Matthias Bessey was selected as the 2023-2024 @rbc Community Ambassador.
Matthias, has spent his past 2 seasons here with the Drayton Valley Thunder where he has made a significant impact In our community on and off the ice and enjoys volunteering his time.
This season Matthias had several events that he attended that stood out to him and was honoured to be apart of each and everyone of them. The first event was reading with the students at St. Anthony’s School for World Read Aloud Day, the Thunder’s Annual Stuff A Bus to help families in need for the holidays with donations going to our Local Food Bank and Santa’s Anonymous, skating with our Jr thunder kids after games, running kids skates and helping the local hockey players on the Drayton Valley Minor Hockey teams throughout the season.
Matthias, this season was awarded the Monte Waronek Memorial Leadership Award.
Bessey, a leader on and off the ice and a role model to many of our young community members, knows the importance and value of mentoring/volunteering as he had been and done in his younger years , this is why he was selected for this seasons Community Ambassador.
