Foward Daniel Kernaghan and Defensman Langley Kruggel signed for the upcoming 2020-2021 season.

The Drayton Valley thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are excited to announce the signings of 2002 forward Daniel Kernaghan and 2002 defenceman Langley Kruggel.

Kernaghan, a 6?1 product of the Calgary Buffalos Midget AAA team finished last season with 10pts in 29 regular season games but it was his team leading 6 points in 5 games at the International Mac?s Midget tournament and his 8 pts in 6 playoff games that turned the heads of the Thunder staff.

Associate Coach/GM Matt Keillor had this to say about Kernaghan. ?Kernaghan is an excellent skater combined with his reach and hockey IQ. He has had an excellent development camp with us and has found a way to improve every day. We are excited to see him develop within our program?

Kruggel, a smooth skating 6?0 defender amassed 8 goals and 23 assists in 35 regular season games for the Edge Midget Prep team before the playoff season was cut short. The St.Albert product will be a great addition to the Thunder blueline.

Head Coach/GM Eric Thurston spoke about the signing. ?Langley is a smooth skating puck moving defensemen that we feel fits into our structure very nicely. He was the captain of his Midget Prep team last year and he has already displayed tremendous leadership skill throughout the start of our development camp.?
