Sweet Number Six

What a sweeeeeet win!!!!  Sherwood Park Crusaders may have got the first score up on the clock but three of our Thunder rookies worked together to answer right back only minutes later. #8 Anthony Kapelke and #17 Trevor Poirier set up #9 Brendan McKay who chipped in the first goal for Thunder, making it 1-1. That is where the score stayed for the entire three periods as well as the overtime. First player out on the ice to take the shootout was from Sherwood Park but Thunder's #1 Marc Olivier Daigle shut him down cold with a quick glove hand. Next, for Thunder, as the fans let out a roar, #12 Mason Malkowich worked his way down towards Sherwood Park goalie #31 Matt Tomkins. Mason sniped his shot top shelf above Tomkin's glove hand. Minutes later Sherwood Park sent a second player out only to be defeated by a post. Then, out came another Thunder fan favorite #21 Eric Sieben. He steered his puck low and to the right and that is exactly were his puck went in. Eric rifled his shot right under Tomkin's glove hand. Again, there could have been several stars for tonight's game but out of the group, #1 Marc Olivier Daigle shone the brightest putting up a wall against 33 shots. Awesome job Marc-Olivier and awesome game Thunder. You can all take another bow for your sixth win in a row as well as moving up into a three way tie for second place in the north division.  Good luck Thunder on your swing down south as you take on the Canucks, Eagles and Oilers over the weekend.
