Detroit forward signs with Drayton Valley!
The Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that 03 forward Lucas Krol has signed a Letter of Intent for the 2021/22 season.
Lucas is currently the captain of Detroit Country Day School where they have just resumed play for the 20/21 season. In only 3 games the right winger has a team leading 5 goals and 3 assists. The White Lake Michigan product won a state championship with Country Day in 2018/19 and was named to the Michigan High School All-State first team in 2019/20.
Associate Coach and General Manager Matt Keillor spoke about the signing. “Krol is one of the top Michigan High School players in the state. We are incredibly happy he has chosen Drayton to continue his goal of pursuing an NCAA D1 scholarship. Lucas is an engine on the ice. He is very tenacious and hunts pucks and is noticeable every shift. Lucas possesses a remarkably high hockey IQ and will make our team better at both ends of the ice. Do not get me wrong, for how responsible he is away from the puck he also brings a level of creativity fans will enjoy. When you look at our identity and the way our team plays, he is a player I think will really flourish in Drayton Valley”.
The organization would like to welcome Lucas and the Krol family to Drayton Valley and look forward to his continued development both on the ice and in the community!
