Dawes Commits To Utica College

The Drayton Valley Thunder would like to announce that 20 year old forward Hayden Dawes has committed to Utica College in New York, USA for the 2015-2016 season. The Pioneers play in the ECAC West and are a Division III program.  This hockey program has a rich history of helping student athletes pursue both their scholastic and hockey endeavours.
Hayden is in his third season in the AJHL and was acquired by the Thunder in an October 8th trade with the Calgary Canucks. In 26 games with the Thunder, Hayden has scored six goals as well as adding 11 assists for a total of 17 points. Hayden has been a consistent scoring threat in the AJHL racking up 28 goals and 41 assists for a total of 69 points in 95 career games. Hayden has added some much needed offense, size, and leadership to the Thunder line up this year.
The Drayton Valley Thunder would like to congratulate Hayden and the Dawes family for the commitment to Utica College and know that he will be a benefit to their program as a student athlete in years to come. Hayden is the first Thunder player to commit to an NCAA program in the 2014-15 season.
