Wisconsin center signs with the Thunder!
The Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that 03
forward Drew Sutton has signed for the 2021/22 season.
Drew led all Wisconsin High School in goals per game this season with 40 goals and 18 assists in only 22
games for his hometown Hortonville High School. Last season Drew was invited to Team USA’s S-16
development camp where the speedy center had 3 goals and 1 assist in 5 games. Drew is currently
playing for Team Wisconsin where he is tied for the team led with 9 goals in 18 games playing in the
country’s top ranked Upper Midwest HS Elite League in Minnesota. Team Wisconsin is currently awaiting
their next opponent for USA Nationals.
Associate General Manager and Associate Coach Matt Keillor spoke about the Wisconsin forward.
“Drew is a very cerebral player. He plays in every situation for Team Wisconsin. He scores goals at an
incredible pace, but it was his play without the puck that stood out for us the most. He is on the ice for
defensive zone faceoffs when their holding a lead and he is out there when his team needs a big goal.
You can tell he is really trusted to be effective under any situation and I expect he will be a major impact
player in the AJHL and really strengthens our recruiting class for next year”
The Drayton Valley Thunder would like to extend a big welcome to Drew and the Sutton family and wish
Drew all the best as Team Wisconsin continues their playoff run to USA nationals.
