The Drayton Valley Thunder are excited to announce that defenceman Taynton Lavender will be representing Team Canada West at the upcoming World Junior ‘A’ Challenge December 7-13th, 2025 in Trois-Rivières, QC. So far this season Lavender leads all AJHL defenceman with 8 goals, 13 assists for 21 points in 20 games played.
The 2025 Junior A World Challenge gets underway at Colisée Vidéotron on Dec. 7 when 2024 bronze medallist Canada West takes on Sweden at 7 p.m. ET. The tournament concludes with the medal games on Dec. 13
All tournament games will be available via livestream on HNLive.ca, while the gold medal game will also be available on TSN+.
