Thunder Welcomes Matt Keillor To Coaching Staff

The Drayton Valley Thunder are pleased to announce that Matt Keillor has officially joined our team as Associate Coach and Assistant General Manager.
Keillor bring extensive coaching and management experience to the Thunder. Keillor was Head Coach of the Junior A Grande Prairie Storm from 2017 to 2019, taking the last place team to a playoff position each year as well as successfully advancing players to the next level including Dvision 1, U Sport and ACAC.
Keillor?s coaching experience also includes Bantam and Midget level hockey earning Keillor Coach of the Year award two years in a row, as well as the prestigious Alberta Bantam AAA Coach of the Year Award in 2014-2015 season. In addition, Keillor has extensive involvement as coach and mentor with Team Alberta?s U16 program; Assistant Coach for Team Alberta (winning back to back Gold Medals at Western Canadian Championship); Team Canada U17; and Team Canada World Junior A Challenge Camp.
Keillor started with the Thunder In January to help out Coach Thurston when former associate coach Rotheisler left on medical leave. Keillor was part of the team?s strong finish to the season and successful first round vs Bonnyville Pontiacs.

Matt Keillor assumed his full time duties August 1, and is looking forward to being an active part of the Drayton Valley Community.
