Thunder welcome Kevin Young to the Board of Directors.

The ownership group of the Drayton Valley Thunder takes great pride in welcoming a former member of its Bd. Of Directors back into the fold. Kevin Young, who was with the Thunder from 2005-08, has just rejoined the Thunder Family. Kevin and his wife Lori are originally from Prince Albert, SK, but since 2005 have been fixtures of the local business community. Kevin’s family came to Drayton Valley originally so that he could pursue a career with Weyerhaeuser, but he and Lori have since pursued local entrepreneurial ventures, including operation of the local Boston Pizza and Dairy Queen restaurants, as well as Tazzy Kats Enterprises Inc. Kevin brings a wealth of business knowledge and experience to the team, as well as his lifelong passion for sports. Kevin once served as athletic trainer for the hockey club before moving to volunteer as coach of the Frank Maddock Warriors Football program, serving as defensive coordinator for 12 seasons. Kevin has also supported the community as a Drayton Valley Brazeau County Fire Service firefighter for 10 years before retiring with the official rank of lieutenant. Kevin and Lori are blessed with three daughters and two grandchildren, and have even billeted Thunder players over the years. Kevin would like to express his gratitude to the people of Drayton Valley for their steadfast support, and is excited about the opportunity to give back by helping to bring an AJHL championship back to Drayton Valley.

Welcome Aboard Kevin!
