Thunder Thankful For Generosity and Support

For those who took my advice to join in on the Thunder itinerary this past weekend, they would not have been disappointed. First, fans cheered on as Thunder took out the Brooks Bandits with a 3-2 win on Friday. In this contest Mathieu Lapointe was nominated the star of the game for his efforts. Good work Mathieu! And, we also were relieved to hear positive news that Nathan Smith is feeling great with hopes of being on the ice very soon. Then on Saturday, Thunder hosted over 100 people to an evening of fine wine, amazing food, great auction items, excellent entertainment by Danny Hooper and foot stomping music in the dance that followed during the Annual Sportsman's Dinner. The Thunder organization and players would also like to thank all who joined in on the festivities and supported them so generously with bids and/or sponsored items that made the event a great success. Without your support, Thunder would cease to exist in Drayton Valley. Then, today, fans were provided with three full periods of thrilling hockey followed by three-on-three overtime where Thunder, in another 3-2 win, put another notch in their belt by taking down the Lloydminster Bobcats with their 6th win in a row. Marc Olivier Daigle was crowned the star for this match after facing 44 shots on net. Great win Marc! Great win Thunder! And even though, fans won't see any home games now until November 26th, our Drayton Valley Thunder is still facing a very full week. They will be on the ice tomorrow for another practice before they head out of town to face Calgary Mustangs on Tuesday and the Drumheller Dragons on Wednesday. Once back home, they will be putting in more ice time Thursday and Friday before they make their way up to Whitecourt for another face off on Saturday. Keep’r rolling Thunder!!
