Thunder Team and Fans Come Through for CT4DV

Saturday, January 17th was a great night for the Thunder team, Thunder fans and CT4DV campaigners. First, our Drayton Valley Thunder got a quick jump on the scoreboard five minutes into the first period  with two goals bam bam by #22 Noah Kieser and #16 Ty Bettac. Then, even though the Wolverines scored one goal shortly after, Thunder had no problem keeping the lead throughout the entire game with a 2-1 win.  Congrats go out to #15 Jordan Taupert for his title of Home Star of the game. Congrats also goes out to the entire team for three solids periods of hockey.
Second, Thunder fans were not only ecstatic over the action on the ice and the win, 25 lucky Thunder fans  went home with a CT4DV Charity jersey right of the backs of the players at the end of the night. Drayton Valley Thunder would like to thank Paula Maciborsky for sponsoring the charity jerseys, as well as the 25 Thunder fans who supported Thunder in their effort to assist this campaign by bidding on these charity jerseys. February 16th has been tentatively set as the date when a cheque of the raised proceeds will be presented to a CT4DV representative.
Lastly, Colleen Sekura and her CT4DV crew were also happy to see how well our Drayton Valley Thunder team and fans did in their part of “Pulling Together”.   Funds were raised for the CT4DV with the auction of the jersey, cash donation as well as money made from tickets sales for an opportunity to shoot the puck for a chance to win a Gator. Thunder would also like to thank Martin Deerline for their contribution towards CT4DV as well.
If you missed your opportunity to contribute to this much needed CT Scanner for Drayton Valley, you can contact Paula at 780-542-3765 as well finding her in Section L on the Rail during the next two home games on January 31st and February 1st. See you there!
