The Drayton Valley Thunder is seeking a FULL TIME Head Coach to start immediately and lead the team for the 2017-2018 season. The ideal candidate should have minimum 5 years coaching experience. The Head Coach will work directly with the Hockey Operations Committee of the Board of Directors and will be responsible for oversight of the coaching and training staff.
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
Coach and mentor players to enhance a culture of development and achievement;
Coach game and develop practices plans and implement systems & game concepts;
Oversee off ice training program; video analysis and game breakdown;
Ability to recruit, negotiate player trades & develop and advance Players
The successful candidate must be able to pay attention to details and follow thru on commitments; must possess a strong work ethic; must be willing to travel and manage team scheduled games and off ice activities. Work effectively with a highly engaged team of volunteers and board members to achieve desired goal. Must be High Performance 1 certified.
