Thunder Announces Addition Of Tanner Foster

The Drayton Valley Thunder is pleased to announce they have acquired Tanner Foster for the 2018-19 season. Foster joins the Thunder from the Whitecourt Wolverines and was part of a trade that that sends Felix Meunier to the Wolverines.

Tanner, a 5’10” 1998 born defensemen from Okotoks, Alberta, played 2 seasons and 102 games with the Wolverines. Tanner put up 25 assists in the 2017-18 season, exhibiting his strong defensive ability as a veteran on the team.

“Tanner is truly one of the top D-man in our league, who will match up against the other team’s top lines game in and game out. I have full confidence in his ability to quarterback our power play, kill penalties and play in all key situations for the Thunder”. said new Head Coach and General Manager, Eric Thurston. “Aside from his skill on the ice, Tanner demonstrates leadership abilities far beyond his years. He will be a great asset in mentoring the younger players on how to be successful on the ice and in the community promoting the tradition of winning culture within the Thunder organization.”

“Winning programs are based on great people, not only great players and adding this final piece to the Thunder line up was key.” Said Coach Thurston
