Thunder Announces Addition Of Brett Bamber

Drayton Valley Alberta – The Drayton Valley Thunder is pleased to announce the addition of Brett Bamber to the 2018-19 season’s roster. Brett joins the Thunder from the AMHL St. Albert Raiders AAA Team.

Brett, a 5’8 2001 born defenseman from St. Albert, Alberta played 22 games with the Raiders and was recently named All-Star at the Mack’s Cup (2018). Brett is returning to the AJHL after having played 13 games with the DV Thunder at the start of the 2017-18 season.

“Brett’s greatest strengths are his strong skating and his offensive ability as a defenseman. He possesses a great shot that we will look to use for our power play”, said new Head Coach and General Manager, Eric Thurston. “He plays hard every shift and has skills reminiscent of Paul Coffey.”

Brett is excited for his second opportunity to play with the Drayton Valley Thunder. He believes that this season will showcase a strong young team that will balance playing tough with being successful at putting the puck in the net. Bamber describes himself as a smart, play creating defenseman who can skate the puck with his head up to make tactful scoring chances for his team. He looks forward to playing in a town so deeply rooted in hockey culture and is excited to make an impact in the community while he works towards his athletic goals.
