Thunder add to Hockey Operations Department

Thunder Add to Hockey Operations Department

We are excited to announce a realignment of the Drayton Valley Thunder Hockey Operations department, effective immediately.

Scott Pimblott has been promoted to Director of Player Personnel. In this new role, Pimblott will oversee all aspects of roster management and recruitment, reporting directly to Eric Schneider, Vice-President of Operations. Pimblott will continue to perform Assistant General Manager roles while focusing on the future of the organization.

“It has been a pleasure getting to know Scott these last few months and I am impressed with both his knowledge, skill set and his work ethic,” said Schneider. “His dedication, experience, and knowledge of the game are exceptional. This promotion is well deserved and will allow Scott to play a key role in the continued success of the Thunder.”

In a related move, Daryl Winter has been named Head of Scouting. Winter is local to Drayton Valley and brings a strong enthusiasm for scouting, incredible working knowledge of the recruiting process, and a passion that aligns with the new vision for the team.

“We are confident that Daryl will play a crucial role in building a competitive and successful team,” said Schneider.

Pimblott and Winter will now focus on rounding out the scouting staff. Pimblott and Winter are currently recruiting for positions in all regions, with a particular focus on Southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. All inquiries should be directed to scott.pimblott@draytonvalleythunder.ca.

This move allows Geoff Walker, Head Coach and General Manager, more time to focus on the management of the current active roster, player development, and our push towards the playoffs.

These changes are part of the Thunder’s ongoing commitment to building a strong and sustainable organization. The next Thunder home game is January 31, 2025 @ 7:00 pm, where we take on the Drumheller Dragons.
