Rylan Brown signs LOI for upcoming 2021/2022 season

The Drayton Valley Thunder of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that “˜05 Defenseman Rylan Brown has signed a Letter of Intent for the 2021/22 season.

The 6′ Sherwood Park product played last season for OHA Edmonton Bantam Prep where the speedy defender scored 7 goals and added 17 assists in 27 regular season games. Rylan is currently playing for OHA Edmonton U16 Prep where he continued his scoring pace with 1 goal and 4 assists in 4 games before the season was cut short due to Covid restrictions. Rylan is the son of former Edmonton Oiler Sean Brown who owns Breakout Hockey in Edmonton and is the on-ice Skill Development coach for OHA Edmonton and the Drayton Valley Thunder.

Head Coach Eric Thurston had this to say about the recent signing. “Rylan is a highly creative defender. He has great hands and is an excellent passer. When you watch Rylan play you can see right away that he is the smartest player on the ice with his age group. Rylan will be a premier JrA defensemen and were ecstatic to have him part of our organization.”
