Tanner Clarkson Commits to the University of Alberta Golden Bears
The Drayton Valley Thunder are pleased to announce that 20 year old Tanner Clarkson has committed to University of Alberta Golden Bears who just won their 14th CIS National Championship under Head Coach Ian Herbers.
Clarkson a 6”2 200 lbs forward, is a West Kelowna, BC native who in 51 games played scored 19 goals and added 16 assists for a total of 35 points. Clarkson was acquired by the Thunder from the Lloydminster Bobcats in the 2013-2014 off season.
“Tanner worked very hard this season at being a complete player, in doing that he was able to lead by example both on and off the ice, he accepted the challenge of leading a young team, and we are very proud of his accomplishments” explained Head Coach Mike Mueller. “ Tanner leaves a lasting legacy on our returning players and we wish him all the best at advancing into the next stage of being a student athlete.
