The Drayton Valley Thunder are pleased to announce that 20 year old defenceman Austin Yaremchuk (Sherwood Park, AB) has committed to attend and play for the Grant MacEwan Griffins who play in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
Austin just completed his 4th year in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Over his career, he appeared in 214 games where he registered 16 goals, 68 assists and 440 penalty minutes. He appeared in 25 play-off games where he had 5 assists and 39 penalty minutes.
The Thunder organization would like to congratulate Austin and his family and wish him all the best in his future endeavours both academically and athletically.
